Exclusive 90-Day Fitness Challenge | Limited Space Available

Ever start a fitness plan and do good for awhile but then slowly faded out? Ever wanted to just start but never had the support to get through? Know you need a change but don’t know the best solution? These are just some problems I see over and over again, but this all changes NOW!

Starting in November I will begin offering exclusive and limited accountability groups. Pretty much Team Beachbody gave us (the coaches) the last piece to the puzzle. I now have the ability to offer you a fitness and nutrition solution all combined with intense, focused, and small group accountability. Sound interesting?

Before you get to excited I am going to tell you here and now that it still won’t be easy and there absolutely will be requirements to join and to stay. The great thing is that I know, those who are REALLY serious about changing their lives will do whatever it takes to get it done. If that’s YOU, then you are exactly who I am looking for.

“Alone we try, together we will have the absolute best freak’n chance to succeed”

So here’s the deal:

I will accept a very limited number of clients each month to join in a small fitness challenge. I will assemble groups of 5 people ALL doing the exact same program. You will have quite a few options for your fitness solution and everyone will be using Shakeology. If you are willing to invest in your health that tells me you are willing to do what it takes. I make a commission from your purchase and this supports the coaching, support, and encouragement I will offer during the challenge.

The challenge members that are accepted will receive my personal cell to text and reach out when needed. I will run anywhere from 1-3 groups per month depending on the demand. I know a lot of people already clicked away as soon as they read they would have to invest. But your still here which means something.

Here are the requirements in a nut shell:

  • MUST be my customer (this will happen when you choose and purchase your package solution)
  • MUST be and remain on Shakeology HD throughout the entire 90-day challenge
  • MUST post daily with your progress (or even struggles)
  • If you need a fitness program you can choose from 1 of 3 packages (each includes Shakeology HD and a 30-day trial in the Team Beachbody Club so you can check out the meal planner.
  • MUST enter the Beachbody Challenge (It’s free AND part of the checkout process when you purchase your package solution). This will ensure you are eligible to win daily prizes for logging your workouts in the Super Gym AND you could even submit your transformation for your change to win $100,000.
  • MUST have a clear and defined emotional reason for wanting this transformation. (we will work on this together)

Here is my commitment to you:

  • I will give the exclusive members of my challenges priority
  • You will receive my cell phone number and permission to contact as necessary through text or setup a call
  • For each member that meets the requirements from above and completes successfully all 90-days in the challenge will receive a certificate of completion in the mail
  • I will support, encourage, and coach you through to your results. In fact, if you slack I will SEE since this is such a small group and you can bet that I’ll be calling if I don’t hear from you!!

How you will benefit overall:

  • You will no longer have an excuse to skip workouts because you will have accountability
  • You will have the opportunity to completely transform your body and your health
  • You will be with a group of people ALL going through the same pain, success, and growth as you. You will NOT be alone. Even if your close friends and family poke fun at you, you will ALWAYS have the group to push you forward!
  • You will achieve a massive sense of accomplishment and will feel unstoppable
  • You can finally feel good (or just feel better) as you get results and realize happiness with yourself.

You will choose from one of the 3 price point packages depending on which fitness program you are looking to start…

Remember, the price of each package include the fitness program you chose, Shakeology Home Direct, and a 30-day trial to the Club Membership so you can check out the meal planner, fitness trainer chats, etc.

So here is the kicker…

As of this writing (Oct 27th, 2011) the packages are NOT available yet! =O

But that’s OK, here is what is happening in the mean time. I am finding those who will really take this serious and who are willing to invest in themselves. I know most people just want free stuff so it will take longer to find members who want to run with this. The packs officially become available on November 1st, 2011. My first round of Fitness Challenges start day 1 on November 11th, 2011 (11/11/11).

Since you will need time to order and have your package solution shipped to you it is important that you message me RIGHT NOW to let me know you are in. I am creating a list on a first come, first serve basis and spaces are already filling up. I will take NO MORE than 15 members total (which would be 3 separate 5-person teams). I need to keep it limited so I can provide quality focus for you.

Don’t miss out. Message me before you click away and share your goals. Tell me why you want to do this and what accomplishing your fitness/health goals will do for you. How will you feel? What will you be able to do that you cannot do now? etc.

Primal Fitness | Why Workout Inside When You’ve Got A Cool Rock Pile?

Yesterday I decided to toss aside the jump rope and agility ladder from the Insanity Asylum workout to take advantage of this natural gym around my parents house here in Maine. Go figure, when you live somewhere you don’t really realize what you have; when you are not there you realize what you are missing!

Between the organic garden my parents put in every year and the organic beef farm 2 miles down the road, this place is heaven to me. Not to mention all the wonderful ways to get in a primal workout! I mean seriously, this place is a freak’n playground!

So I decided to put together a fun and challenging workout which lasted 1 full hour. Best of all, I captured a lot of it on video for you!

Here is my disclaimer: this stuff, like an fitness can be dangerous if not taken with caution. Especially with uneven terrain and all the obstacles nature provides. If you do this workout or try and copy it, you are doing so at your own risk and you assume all responsibility for any injuries!

If you agree to the above then continue reading and watch this video I created to show you this intense primal workout ladder set!

Hit Play

This Primal Workout consisted of:

  • Sprints (Approx. 300y each) x4
  • Over-Head Kyak Carries x4 (I chose Kyaks because that’s what I had available)
  • Rock Tossing 4 minutes
  • Tree Climbs 4 minutes
  • 4 Set Max Rep Pushups

- Complete as many timed pushups as possible without touching your knees. Once your form degrades or you are done take an break equally as long as your set. So if you did 45 seconds worth of pushups before touching or failing, rest 45 seconds. Then on your second set repeat the max timed pushups which most likely you will fail sooner. So if you fail after 30 seconds, rest 30 seconds. Repeat this pattern until you complete 4 sets

After completing one round of each set I would rest about 2 minutes and repeat again, 4 times altogether. However, each time I repeated 1-5 I would reduce by 1 rep or 1 min.

i.e. After my first 2 minute rest I repeated except I did 3 sprints, 3 Kyak carries, 3 minutes rock toss, and 3 minutes tree climbs; Though the pushups always remained at 4 sets each time through. I repeated 1-5 until I got down to 1 sprint, 1 kyak carry, 1 min rock toss, etc.

All this just to earn my P90X Recovery Formula which is on my Top 5 must have supplement list. While all this fitness is great it’s the rest, recovery, and nutrition (the building blocks you feed your body) that will create better results and enhanced physical conditioning.

It’s not all about indoor home workout programs. Get outside and have some fun every once in awhile! What’s funny is when you watch the above video and look at the workout I completed, it looks an awful lot like what I did as a kid that was just considered “play time”.

Do what it takes!

Will P90X2 Be The Best Home Workout Program Ever?

Well I am not quite sure but I can tell you that P90X2 is going to set the bar pretty damn high! Seriously, since the beginning when Beachbody was talking about the “next” P90X workout (which originally was P90X MC2) I was pretty excited. Being a graduate of the original program which quite literally changed my life (heard that before?) you can bet I am always drooling over the next program to challenge my current fitness level.

Guess what? I thought I was doing pretty good but I was sorely mistaken. In May while at the Beachbody Coach Summit in LA I had the chance to go with my good friends Liz Poin, Charles Leslie, and Matthew Hillis to the Santa Monica Beach. There we decided to challenge ourselves with the various ropes, bars, and gymnastic style equipment.

This was BEFORE we were treated to the P90X2 trailer which I will share in just a moment. Long story short, though I did OK at the beach that day, I realized my fitness could be SO MUCH BETTER! Simple isolated curls and weight work can build muscle, but it doesn’t necessarily build function and balance. After climbing the ropes and hanging off the monkey bars for maybe an hour or so I was left drained, beat, and tired.

I knew at that point it was time to increase my functional approach at fitness. Luckily the Insanity Asylum workout had been released and this has provided an ample challenge. But the big game changer for me was when Beachbody unveiled actually clips from the various P90X2 workouts!

When you see these moves you are going to be completely blown away! This is a SERIOUS program and will take some intense focus, concentration, and dedication. But I really feel, for those that make it through, that P90X2 is the next revolution in fitness.

Check out this P90X2 trailer

Pretty freakn cool, huh? Sure the video is flashy but what’s most important to me is how P90X2 really focuses on function rather than simple isolation. Plus, there is even a Myofascial release part to this program. Seriously, all the top notch fitness knowledge of our time is included in one step by step program. This isn’t some shock belt – This is a plan to a seriously high level of fitness!

So here is the deal. P90X2 will not be released until later this year. I have heard rumors of a December release day. Sad, I know. However, Beachbody is making this program available for pre-registration starting September 2011. So the great news is this. You can be one of the first in line to make damn sure you get started as soon as this program is released. I am 100% sure Charles and I will be creating a special group for those sick enough to try this with us.

You can only pre-register through an official Team Beachbody Coach which I happen to be! =) I will make a commission from your purchase which will help me do what I do to motivate and push you through your journey. Here are 2 steps to take to make sure you have me as your Coach and that you get in line to get P90X2 as soon as it’s released for pre-registration.

1)

P90X Reviews | Find Out When You Need To Say Screw It With P90X

Warning! After watching the video at the bottom of this post you may have no option but to say “screw it“. Continue ONLY if you want to get inspired, motivated, and get ready to do your workout!

I have been creating P90X reviews from my personal experience with this workout program for nearly 2 years now.

With that said, I experienced one of those days this past Saturday where I knew I had to workout, I had to do what it takes, and yet I found myself watching TV putting it off.

You ever have those days?

I’ll do it in an hour...” turns intoI’ll start at 6…turns intoOK i’ll really start at 7…” etc.

For no real particular reason you keep putting off and delaying until that moment when it becomes “to late” to workout and you decide to do it tomorrow. Then tomorrow turns into the next day, the next day turns into starting over next week,  and so it continues.

I came face to face with one of those moments but this time I did something different…

I said “Screw You” and I did my P90X workout. The motivation I experienced was so inspiring to me that I HAD to put it on video that very moment to share with you.

Let’s face it, we are human and we are prone to days like this. But this is EXACTLY what you need to do the next time you catch yourself putting off your workout. Even if  you’re doing something other than P90X this can still be used!

Get ready to be fired up!

I recommend the P90X workout program to anyone! Why? Because it works! BUT, it only works when you show up and you put in the work. It’s not a fancy machine or some gimmick, P90X is about following a healthy lifestyle day in and day out; it’s about committing yourself to your goals and never looking back. Only buy p90x if you are truly ready and serious about your health/ fitness!

P90X Reviews – How The P90X Workout Schedule Works Made Easy!

The P90X Workout Schedule is comprised of three separate routines.

You choose where you want to start based on your physical conditioning and then just push play. The three options of the P90X workout schedule are broken down into Classic, Lean, and Doubles. I will give you a detailed yet easy to understand breakdown of each P90X Workout Schedule for those that don’t understand or needed clarification.

P90X Workout Schedule Options:

“Classic”

This is where most people seem to start, including myself – The Classic Workout Schedule is straight forward and offers the best combination or those ready to build muscle and burn fat as they go.

The classic workout schedule requires no more than 1 hour and a half in any one day – The longest workout of the entire schedule is Yoga X.

I chose to do classic in my first round of P90X and seemed to get very good results by sticking almost 100% to the workouts. My diet was nothing organized and didn’t follow the P90X Meal Plan. However, I did eat healthy and clean, i.e. no soda, candy, ice cream, red meats, sugars, etc. I still consume sugar but on a highly reduced level, pretty much only in my coffee – that is my one diet evil.

The Classic P90X Workout Schedule will work you out 6 days a week just as Lean and Doubles will do except you tend to focus on a mix of Cardio and Resistance training, nearly 50 / 50. It looks something like this:

1. Monday: Resistance + Abs
2. Tuesday: Cardio
3. Wednesday: Resistance + Abs
4. Thursday: Stretch / Balance (Yoga)
5. Friday: Resistance + Abs
6. Saturday: Cardio
7. Sunday: Off

The Classic P90X Workout Schedule is ideal for those ready to get started from ground 0 and not looking to lose a ton of fat up front before building muscle. The above example stays true through each phase with a few resistance videos switching up to add Muscle Confusion. Let’s look at Lean now.

“Lean”

The Lean Workout Schedule will have you focusing on Cardio a lot more than resistance. This is a great place to start for those that want to focus on weight loss first and then maybe work into muscle building later on. With Lean you will be doing a lot more cardio options which in turn will burn more calories and help you drop fat faster.

I have not tried the lean P90X Workout Schedule option myself but I think it would be ideal if you wanted to condition and didn’t think you were quite ready to jump into Classic. You will need to set aside up to 1 hour and 30 minutes for your Lean Workout Schedule; the longest workout is Yoga X.

A Lean P90X Workout Schedule would look something like this:

1. Monday: Core / Cardio
2. Tuesday: Cardio
3. Wednesday: Resistance + Abs
4. Thursday: Stretch / Balance (Yoga)
5. Friday: Resistance + Abs
6. Saturday: Cardio
7. Sunday: Off

Notice how Monday differs from the Classic P90X Workout Schedule – You add an additional cardio / core exercise to maximize fat burning and core strengthening.

Now what’s interesting is at phase 3 of the Lean workout schedule you actually do workouts similar to Phase 1 of the Classic workout schedule. With that said you can see how Lean is designed as a lead up into Classic and then Classic builds into what we will look at next.

“Doubles”

Alright, this is the ultimate P90X Workout Schedule and for those already in shape or already doing Classic but ready for more. You will see why in a moment. Now with Doubles you will need a lot more dedication and time, you will need to set aside up to 2 hours and 20 minutes on some days. In most cases you will wake up and do cardio, then a couple hours later or in the evening you will do resistance + Abs.

Let’s take a look at what the Doubles P90X Workout Schedule looks like. ( Now keep in mind in Phase 1 Doubles appear to be the exact same as Classic – In phase 2 this changes by adding 3 cardio workouts each week and in phase 3 there is a significant change by adding 4 cardio workouts)

The following example is based off the Doubles P90X Workout Schedule – Phase 3. I want you to see how serious this really gets!

1. Monday: AM – Cardio / PM – Resistance + Abs
2. Tuesday: AM – Cardio / PM – Cardio
3. Wednesday: Resistance + Abs
4. Thursday: AM – Cardio / PM – Stretch and Balance (Yoga)
5. Friday: AM – Cardio / PM – Resistance + Abs
6. Saturday: Cardio
7. Sunday: Off

Notice how extreme is gets? The biggest difference between Classic and Doubles is the addition of all the Cardio. The best way to compare is this – In Doubles phase 3 you’re basically doing Classic with 4 additional Cardio workouts a week. Pretty intense eh – Believe me, it is!

Well that was a quick look at the P90X Workout Schedule and the variations that occur. This is a generalized overview but was hopefully informative. Keep in mind that with P90X and Muscle Confusion your resistance days will switch up to continuously bring intensity and challenge so you never fully adapt. This is the power of the P90X Workout Schedule – Choose Yours.

  • If your new and want to lose weight fast – Do Lean.
  • If you’re seasoned and want a challenge plus muscle gain – Do Classic
  • If you’re a pro and classic is not a challenge, get extreme – Do Doubles

The choose is yours and the P90X Workout Schedule allows so many variations there is no reason why you should not be pushing play today – Take responsibility for yourself and your health, take action today!

Find a detailed list of required equipment needed to complete the P90X workout schedule and, when you make that decision to finally just do it, discover where to buy the P90X workout so you received a complete official copy.

P90X Workout – Required Equipment + Some Things To Consider

Unfortunately the P90X Workout is not as simple as buying the DVDs and calling it good.

This article will help you discover the things you absolutely need and will discuss a few additional things you can live without but should consider non-the-less when doing the P90X workout.

A Set of Dumbbells and / or Resistance Bands

Now personally I prefer the Dumbbells to the bands but if all you have are bands then you can still do the P90X workout program. The difference being that you won’t get the explosive results you are looking for with just bands.

To build muscle and get super toned you will need to lift heavy weights. There is no way around it.

I suggest starting with at least 10lb dumbbells and having at your disposal a couple additional sets ranging from 15 pounds to 25 pounds. You should have at least 2 sets of dumbbells available because the moves vary so much you can’t possibly use one set for everything.

Bands will work but I suggest weights to get maximum results.

A Chin Up bar

You absolutely, without a doubt, need a way to do chin ups. A big portion of the P90X workout involves chin ups. Whether you have a solid bar in your gym or the iron gym (like me) in your door way, either will work just fine. 80-90% of the time you should at least have a door frame that can handle the iron gym chin up bar.

The Team Beachbody Store also offers a P90X version of the Chin Up bar with many hand grips and works exactly the same as the Iron Gym. If you are ordering P90X you can combine shipping when you order the P90X Chin Up Bar at the same time. Just something to consider.

*You can use bands here if that is your last resort, but again, I suggest an actual chin up bar to bands to maximize results. I got my Iron Gym for $30 bucks on Ebay, it is also available at Wal Mart and Target for cheaper these days.

A Yoga Mat

No matter what, get a mat! You can find these for $10 at Wal Mart in the fitness equipment section. You will need one! If you have a soft carpeted workout area at home then you may be able to squeeze by. But if you are on a hard wood or tile surface, get a Yoga Mat!

Your knees will thank you. Yoga X is brutal so be prepared to begin with! Never cut corners when it comes to your body and especially your joints!

Workout Sheets

You can download these sheets directly from Beachbody and they will play a crucial role in keeping track of your progression throughout the P90X workout. If you don’t write down how many reps and how much weight you used you will have no idea what to do next time.

I leave notes on these sheets telling myself to increase or decrease weight the next time I do a particular p90x workout, without it I would be lost and progress hindered. Use them!

*I also have links available for download at the Buy P90X page here on Betterbody90.com.

A Chair

Finally, you will need a chair. Not for much but for a few moves.

Chair Dips, Seated Shoulder Flies, Plyometrics swing kicks, Declined push ups, and maybe for added support when doing push-ups!

Shoes

Make sure you have a nice set of cushioned shoes mainly for plyometrics jump training. Again, if you have a carpet you may be able to get by, but if you have a hard surface to work with, get shoes!

Recommended but not needed

A Fan

You will without a doubt build up quite a sweat doing the P90X workout program. Having a fan blowing directly on you to keep you cool will be a very nice addition. Use what you have or get something cheap from your local store.

Your body performs best when it is kept cool so I highly suggest a fan to help you out!

A Camera / Measuring Tape

You don’t HAVE to take pictures and measurements But I highly suggest you do! It’s crucial to be able to look back at your day one photo compared to day 10, 20, 33, 62, etc. the same goes for measurements.

These numbers and pictures will play a huge roll in keeping you motivated while you go through the program. Being able to actually look at pictures side by side will really help boost motivation when you can actually see love handles fading away and muscles popping out. Believe me!

Let’s wrap this up. If your wondering, “bands over weights?” I will say this. You CAN use bands BUT I highly suggest you invest in weights for maximum results. Bands to me are an absolute fail safe if you just cannot get weights but should not be primary.

The recommended equipment is your choice but is highly recommended!

The only step now is to finally stop with the excuses, Buy P90X here today, and prepare to do something good for yourself. It won’t happen until you DO something about it!

Now Available! New Hybrid Workout Schedule

Ok so for those that saw the video I released on Youtube several days ago,  I have prepared a new Hybrid workout schedule combining P90X, Shaun T Insanity, and P90X+. I built the program basically around the P90X Classic style with a 90 day, 3 phase approach, but the workouts are different.

You are about to see what I am talking about AND you can even download the image file I created!

But first I want to explain a couple things.

#1 If you don’t have P90X+, that’s fine, just toss in Tony’s P90X One-on-One, Insanity, or other P90X cardio style workouts.

#2 I removed Legs and Back. Some people have shown concern about removing the lower body workout. This is my reasoning. Legs and Back rocks as a workout BUT there really are not that many actually weighted moves. Yes you DO do some calve workouts and some weighted lunges, but most of the moves are without weights and involved doing pull-ups.

My reasoning behind removing this workout is simply this. Insanity alone I believe has all the lower body power moves you need, it’s not just cardio; it’s squats, jumps, and power moves that will help shape and form your lower body.

I replaced legs and back with one of the upper body workouts from P90X so you’re still doing the pull-ups. I feel that Insanity effectively targets all the lower body stuff you need while P90X 3 days a week will target all your upper body and core. If you want to do legs and back, do legs and back. But honestly I don’t really think your legs are going to shrink up without that exercise, not when you’re doing Insanity.

If you want huge legs do Insanity with Ankle weights (2-2.5 pounds) and or wrist weights (2-2.5 pounds W/ the thumb hole). Or go to the gym and do weighted squats. If you want bigger calves, toss in some weighted calf raises at the end of one or two workouts each week (But make sure to space it at least 2 days – Never work the same muscle group hard two days or more in a row!) Your muscle growth comes in the rest and repair, not in the actual workout itself.

Ok, with those out of the way, here is the video which gives a little more explanation of my Hybrid Schedule.

Keep in Mind that this schedule is designed for those that have done P90X, Insanity, or a mix of both and want a new challenge using the same programs. This is a way to add variety and Super Muscle Confusion! I wanted something new because after going through all these programs, let’s be honest, they get old. Don’t get me wrong, I love them! But when you do something so many times it gets boring.

So, I thought I’d add some extra variety and even mix up trainers so its like having two super motivating physical trainers telling you to push your hardest!

I think my favorite aspect of this new hybrid schedule is the fact that the Cardio Abs and Ab Ripper X cycle each week so it mixes it up! Muscle Confusion is the real deal and this schedule brings it to a whole new level.

Leave your comment below and let me know what you think, good or bad, I want to hear your opinion! I feel anyone can learn anything if they keep an open mind so I’d love to hear what you think.

You can Download your image file version of this schedule directly below and use it at your own risk, you don’t have to follow it verbatim, mix it up if you want but follow it 100% if you can.

You will need the following workout programs to complete the schedule as it is setup. You can get any of these programs through my official Team Beachbody Store:

BetterBody90′s “P90X Insanely Reloaded Plus” Hybrid Workout Schedule

Shaun T Insanity Workout VS. the P90X Workout Program

Shaun T Insanity or the P90X workout program?

Over the next couple minutes you will learn the comparisons and differences between these two rival “workout at home” exercise programs.

The P90X workout program used to be the one exercise program that everyone knew thanks to early morning and late night infomercials. Recently Beachbody added a new program to the game  that to some may be considered a rival, that program is Shaun T Insanity.

But which one is more intense?

Comparably they are both equal in their own rights but each workout program focuses on a different approach towards fitness.

I have personally used both programs and this gives me the rare opportunity to offer a first hand look at both the P90X workout program and Shaun T Insanity. After this article you will be fully equipped with the answers you are looking for.

Which works better? P90X or the Insanity workout?

Great questions, though it’s hard to put both workouts programs side by side as it’s not a simple apples to apples comparison but more like apples to oranges. Both programs are capable of offering a huge physical challenge but each has it’s own approach and it’s own target results. I’ll explain.

The P90X workout program is a 90 day system which could otherwise be considered an “at home boot camp”. You will need a chin up bar, a chair, a set of dumbbells and/or bands, shoes, plus about 1 hour to 1 hour and a half 6 days a week. The 7th day is an optional stretch or complete rest day.

From first hand experience I like to look at P90X as a “all-in-one” program. It is not designed to just bulk you up, it’s not going to just help you lose weight, it’s not just balance, and it’s not just cardio.

The P90X workout program just tosses a bit of everything into the equation. You lift heavy one day (or light if you want), your punching and kicking with Kenpo karate another day, and to top it off on other days you will be doing 1 and a half hours of Yoga for a complete mind/ body/ soul adventure.

You will go through three phases of 1 month each in P90X with each month switching it up. Most of the cardio, stretch, and balance routines stay the same. The difference in each phase is that you change out the resistance workouts so that your muscles are constantly challenged so they will always be receptive to the workout rather than plateauing.

Shaun T Insanity takes a completely different approach. The workout program is 60-days in length and is based solely on Plyometrics, Core, and Cardio training. You will not lift weights, you will not do chin ups, you don’t need a chair, and the workouts range from 35-45 minutes the first phase to 1 hour and 15 minutes the second phase.

You will need very good shoes, preferably a mat to jump on, and near perfect form to avoid injury.

You can already see that Shaun T Insanity is different than P90X so how are the comparable?

The Insanity workout program, though shorter in length, is based on maximum effort Interval cardio. Meaning it’s all about fast, powerful, and coordinated moves. You will still be doing push-ups just like in P90X but otherwise you only use your body, gravity, and will power to push through.

I am telling you from personally experience, with Insanity you literally drip buckets of sweat, seriously! Just because it’s shorter than P90X doesn’t mean it’s not as intense.

You will not be running in one place for an hour, you are jumping around, squatting, balancing, and crunching your core. Shaun T Insanity is on the same level as P90X but the difference is you don’t need extra equipment, you won’t be lifting weights, and the workouts go by much faster.

Insanity is more for the leaner ripped look while P90X will allow for more muscle size and strength.

If you have already completed P90X then I will tell you this. Shaun T Insanity is like taking P90X Plyometrics, doubling the intensity, and doing it 6 days a week.

So which one is better, P90X or Shaun T Insanity?

I don’t think you will find one “better than the other” but what you will find are two different approaches towards fitness.

P90X is a longer 90 day program that has longer workouts but incorporates a slower pace compared to Insanity offering more time to adapt and become stronger. Also you are lifting weights so there is more potential to gain size and muscle definition.

Shaun T Insanity is 60 days with much shorter and faster pace workouts, you won’t be able to adapt as fast and you won’t get great results by pausing through each workout. Insanity is a balls to the walls style workout, it’s straight forward and fast but demands major motivation and energy.

Both workout programs have a “mix-it-up” style so each one changes things throughout the program so there is no monotony.

One final note, if you have knees or lower body joint issues, Insanity may not be for you. It is based on a lot of jumping and really can and will tax your knees and joints if not performed correctly. It is much higher impact compared to P90X. That is something to consider when looking at the two side by side.

Because of the approach Insanity takes I like to look at it this way. If you feel you are P90X capable and are in decent shape, if you can do push-ups, chin-ups, and if you can handle interval cardio, then either program is suitable.

If you cannot do some or all of the previously mentioned exercises then it’s better to avoid Insanity until you can at least complete P90X. Insanity is not a beginner workout, so if you just stepping back into the physical fitness game, throw the ego out, start somewhere small and build up.
